Lutherville Station LLC announced today that Barnes & Noble has signed a lease for 17,807 square feet at Lutherville Station, the proposed and highly anticipated mixed-use, transit-oriented development in the heart of Lutherville in Baltimore County. The new Barnes & Noble location is expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027 in a renovated retail site that is currently occupied.

The new Barnes & Noble bookstore will include a B&N Café, creating a welcoming gathering space for residents, commuters, and visitors alike and serve as a retail anchor for the site and a cultural hub that offers books, curated merchandise, and café seating that encourages gathering and engagement.

“We are thrilled to welcome Barnes & Noble to Lutherville Station,” said Mark Renbaum, a Principal of Lutherville Station LLC, the owner of the site. “This lease underscores the strength of the site’s strategic assets with outstanding demographics, exceptional visibility, a vibrant surrounding community, and direct access to transit. Barnes & Noble is exactly the kind of experiential retailer that helps create a sense of place and community that will further position Lutherville Station as a regional destination.”

The proposed transit-oriented development at Lutherville Station is designed as a vibrant, walkable “townsquare” adjacent to transit, bringing together residential apartments, retail, and public areas next door to Yorkridge Shopping Center.

“We are thrilled to bring Barnes & Noble to Lutherville Station and to become part of this exciting new chapter for the community,” said Janine Flanigan, VP of Store Planning and Design for Barnes & Noble. “Bookstores are natural gathering places, and this location, with its strong neighborhood presence, is a wonderful home for our bookstore and café. We look forward to welcoming readers and families to discover their next great read and to enjoy the books, toys, games, gifts, and more they’ve come to expect from Barnes & Noble.”
